Pakistan Sangeet Icon II

After the huge success of PSI, Indus Television Network presented Pakistan Sangeet Icon II. A mega show made to promote exceptional singing talent of Pakistan. The purpose of the show was to give Pakistan a brilliant new voice.

Auditions took place in all major cities and contestants were selected from all over Pakistan. There were total 12 contestants selected for Pakistan Sangeet Icon, each of them created hype among the whole nation with their outstanding singing talent and were ready to take off as future stars. The winner was presented a One Crore Rupee contract.
 

This 2009, the music industry experienced the country s most extravagant musical showcase EVER as Juggy D, Josh, Serese, Noori, Veronica, H Dhami, Zeb & Haniya, Meekaal Hassan performed at the First EVER MTV Brrrr Music Awards 2009, amongst many others.

 SERESE, the hip UK girl band tipped to take the world by storm opened the show with a grand welcome applause.

 Awards were given out for Best Lyrics, Best Live Act, Best Album, Best Ballad, Best Band, Best Bhangra, Best Act Male/Female, Best Pop Song, Best Rock Song, Breakthrough Video, Best OST, Best UK Bhangra Phenomena, Best International Bhangra Act Female, Upcoming Bhangra Sensation and a Special Contribution to Music Award.

As a tradition MTV Pakistan celebrated outstanding music of 2008, but the performances were all about today as some of the artists debuted their latest songs for the first time ever.

MTV Running on 60

Keeping up with the trend of presenting the industry with one of their kind events, MTV Pakistan organized the MTV Running on 60 Marathon powered by Puma in association with Zong and McDonalds.

The Marathon was truly a Grand Event! On Sunday, February 22, 2009, a 100, exceptionally talented young individuals from all walks of life participated in the MTV Running on 60 Marathon Celebrities, Students, Corporates & the Press; all were there to RUN with the super hyperactive, FUN and wacky MTV VJs. Every participant thoroughly enjoyed running in the pleasant Karachi weather at the Sea View early Sunday morning followed by some delicious post marathon breakfast from McDonalds.

The Marathon was taken away by Mehr Dil who stood first by completing the 7 km Marathon in just 25 minutes, followed by Osman Iqbal and Mohsin, who stood second and third respectively. Not only did the winners get thousands worth of Puma Apparel, every participant went home happy with gifts from MTV and Puma.

MTV the biggest Music brand of the world held their 1st Pakistan Music Video Awards in Karachi where famous celebrities like Mahnoor Balouch, Reema, Jugan Kazim, Vaneeza Ahmed,Nomi Ansari, Tariq Ameen, Mehreen Raheel, Mishi Khan, Fareeha Altaf, Nida Pasha and many others from the media and film industry participated in the show and the event was full of glamour and style.

 
The event was opened by Sonu Dangerous troupe of dancers and had the star-studded audience involved in a sing-along, with special performance by film star Nirma.

It also started with mind blowing medleys based on the jungle theme where the whole story was revolving around TARZAN / JANE and King Kong.

On 24th of November? 07 MTV Pakistan accomplished its first year of excellence through endorsing the local artists and fashion icons on its first birthday.

 
The event was based on the Mardi Gras theme and all the people experienced one of the city's most colorful and unique celebrations. The ambience was filled with colors, beads, masks and the celebrities dressed up as different characters.
